Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Dear ParaPride supporters,

As we enter the festive season, we here at ParaPride want to extend our warmest wishes to all. We recognise that this time of year can be difficult for people. You might be feeling stressed, lonely, excited, anxious or joyful.  However you are feeling this season, know that it is OK not to be OK, and if you’re struggling, support is available. If you need someone to talk to, these charities offer a range of resources:

  • Switchboard - LGBT+ Helpline

  • MindOut – Supporting the mental health of LGBTQ+ people

  • Mermaids – Supporting transgender children and their families

  • Akt – Helping LGBTQ+ young people facing homelessness

December is Disability Pride month and we hope it is proving to be a very happy one for you all. ParaPride has been very busy this year and we're delighted to share with you our 2024 highlights

We look forward to a fantastic 2025 in which we can continue our work to make life more accessible for LGBTQ+ disabled people!

With hope and gratitude,

ParaPride

ParaPride marked this day with our first International Roundtable discussion, hosted with Jonathan Mastellari (@iam_intersectionalmyself) and Aaditya Rai (@rainbowdisabilitynepal). The conversation explored how the intersection of disability, LGBTQ+ identities and cultural perceptions vary across countries. We're excited to share the recorded event soon – don't miss it! Queer Networks Connect

November 2024

ParaPride participated in Queer Networks Connect, an event developed and led by Black Thrive Lambeth and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation to support relationships and connections between people and organisations. By holding this event between Black History Month and Disability History Month, QNC was able to create a dedicated space for providers and staff to connect, learn and celebrate LGBTQ+ staff networks and Communities. The theme of this event was ‘Blackness, Disability and Queerness’, centred on the experiences of Black, Disabled, Queer folks living in Southwark/Lambeth. Our founder, Daniele Lul, was invited to give a brief speech.
